01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Whether you are after a lunch with plenty of vegetables or an evening meal that runs from appetisers to dessert, Pelican Moon Caffe & Dining Bar Ichinoe has options to suit. One diner, impressed by the variety of vegetables in the salad, also recalled the pork ginger as a generous portion of tender meat. The Ginger Pork Plate features thick-cut pork cooked with ginger, served with a choice of multigrain rice or baguette. That choice gives you two ways to make up your lunch. If you would rather put salad centre stage, consider the vegan salad with hummus, grains and grilled vegetables, or a substantial salad topped with fragrant grilled chicken.

Dinner can also be built around individual dishes. The menu lists mussels steamed in white wine with garlic and herbs, a dish that pairs well with wine, alongside a sausage platter of bone-in, frankfurter and herb sausages, and an assortment of 5 cheeses suited to red wine. Pasta options span a range of flavours: peperoncino with octopus, shiso and a hint of lemon; cream pasta with the heat and fragrance of yuzu pepper; and tomato cream pasta made with a whole swimming crab.

One diner who enjoyed a course recalls a meal of appetisers, salad, fritters, the pasta of the day, roast chicken and dessert; that day's pasta featured Miura vegetables. The menu also lists a Standard Course, which runs from an assortment of 3 appetisers through pasta, roast chicken, sweets and coffee, and a Pelican Course that adds a fritto misto to an assortment of 5 appetisers.

Dessert offers more choices for a sweet finish. Choux brûlée comes with seasonal fruit and berry sauce; an affogato pairs espresso with an ice cream rich in fresh milk; and the Basque cheesecake is noted for its smooth, creamy texture. Each makes a distinctive end to a meal with coffee.
